Everybody knows that you can eat some mushrooms while others will kill you, or make you think you can fly. I'd have hated to be the poor bastard whose job it was to work out which was which.

yeah i've often wondered that myself.. why just mushrooms? a whole lot of whatever-age ppl must've died trying to find out which stuff is food and which is poison in the forest. maybe that's why they hunted for meat so extensively and started farming ("we know this one's good.. so let's just eat more and more of this and be happy eh")
